I am an electrical engineer by trade and had my share of science and physics classes over the years. The one thing that has always fascinated me is light and more specifically the speed of light. Now how fast is that? 3x10^8 m/sec (671,000,000 MPH). Yes that 671 million miles per hour! We rely on this fact for our every day lives whether we know it or not. Our communications from internet, cell phones, TV, and even radio would be pretty terrible if it weren't for that super fast speed.  We have gotten so used to technology, but do we really appreciate this universal constant called the speed of light? So I thought I would dedicate a post to the wonder of light/information and it's speed! So How Fast Is The Speed Of Light Really? I have been to many places in the world and eaten some strange things.  So thought I would create a top 10 of the strangest foods from around the world.  Many of these you could not pay me enough to eat.  I am usually open to trying new foods, but I do have my limits.  So sit back or lean forward and check out some crazy foods people actually eat and enjoy! 10. Tuna Eyeballs - Japan Fish is a tasty thing, but I am not sure I could ever eat an eyeball... Yuck!    They are typically prepared by boiling and then adding soy sauce, sugar and sake.  Although it is said to taste similar to squid or octopus which I have eaten.  Some say it taste like a hard boiled egg, hmmmm.... The world has come a long way over the centuries, heck even in the last 10 years!  I have always wondered if people from the past could see where we are today, what they would think. Driving to work today along some farm land, I thought about people in the past and how they had to do almost everything themselves.  Now days with the advancement of technology and knowledge, it's a wonder we can even tie our own shoes...  We have everything at our finger tips and that is thanks to many inventions along the way. From electronics to mechanics, here is my top 10 inventions of all time. 10. The Wheel (~3500 BC?) Where would we be today without the wheel?!  From bikes to cars to toys and equipement, the wheel has had a tremendous impact to humanity.  It helps us get from point A to B.  It has even been used in the water wheel to grind grain. 9. The Clock (725 AD) Time moves whether we want it to or not, so man came up with a way to track it....

We have been blessed to live in a day and age with awesome technology and progress.  But that means that some things have been made obsolete and gone the way of the dinosaur.  So here is a list of my top 10 things that are now obsolete because of technology.... 10. Hand Written Letters People hardly write hand written letters anymore.  Now they still exist and people send birthday cards for example, but no one communicates life events or just life updates via hand written snail mail.  We now have social media, email and testing to do that. 9. Memorize Phone Numbers Man, I used to know all my friends numbers by heart.  I could call anyone I cared about with out a contact or looking it up.  Now I am lucky to remember my own phone number let alone anyone else's.  We now have handy smart phones that store all that for us.  Heaven forbid we lose our phone and stored contacts or we would be lost... 8. We all dread it, we all are slaves to it and no one can escape it, that blasted alarm!  Well for me, the only way to ease into things for the day is to hit the snooze button probably at least 2 times.  Of course now days this is on my phone, not so much an alarm clock, but hey it still wakes me up... via GIPHY For some reason it makes me feel like I got more sleep. Now I have read studies that say it is more tiring and makes you feel less rested, but I beg to differ.  When that alarm goes off and I get 10 more minutes, that is like time gold!  And when I get to hit snooze 2 more times, it's like I hit the jackpot.  Pure sleeping bliss and more time to snuggle my wifey.  Epic! I am not ashamed of it, I snag my wife's trike and do the rounds every day to feed my mini ranch.  This tricycle is both stylish and functional.  It's easy to ride around and has a basket to carry things like grains, eggs, or???? #RookieGuru
