I used to love watching that old tv show "Kids Say the Darnedest Things"  So thought I would pay tribute and scour the web for a few funny ones. As they say money can't buy happiness... Well, maybe it can and maybe it can't, but one thing is certain, we all need money to live and provide for the things we need or want.  Our jobs are what can accomplish that.  So I was thinking about what things can make you successful in your job.  These are some things that have helped me throughout the years. Work Smarter, Not Harder Go Beyond Your Own Job Description Ask Your Boss If There Are Any Tasks That Need Addressed Look For Any Gaps In Coverage That You Could Fill Respond To Emails And/Or Texts Have Open Dialog With Your Boss About Career Goals Recognize Others 1. Work Smarter, Not Harder This doesn't mean that you don't need to work hard, but you should work more efficient.  If you are able to get the same job done as others but in shorter time, you are more valuable to your employer.  This also doesn't mean you can't do a good job.  You still need to do good work and maybe even b...

We have been blessed to live in a day and age with awesome technology and progress.  But that means that some things have been made obsolete and gone the way of the dinosaur.  So here is a list of my top 10 things that are now obsolete because of technology.... 10. Hand Written Letters People hardly write hand written letters anymore.  Now they still exist and people send birthday cards for example, but no one communicates life events or just life updates via hand written snail mail.  We now have social media, email and testing to do that. 9. Memorize Phone Numbers Man, I used to know all my friends numbers by heart.  I could call anyone I cared about with out a contact or looking it up.  Now I am lucky to remember my own phone number let alone anyone else's.  We now have handy smart phones that store all that for us.  Heaven forbid we lose our phone and stored contacts or we would be lost... 8. Thomas Edison was one of the greatest inventors of all time.  I could argue that I would not be posting this blog if it weren't for him.  He invented the light bulb, phonograph and the vacuum diode which was an important stepping stone to modern computers. "I never did a day's work in my life, it was all fun." - Thomas Edison That being said what would do without movies?  Well on this very day in 1891, he patented the motion picture camera.  I definitely can't imagine a world without computers, but what about movies?  What would we do with our spare time if there were no movies?!?!? Is every day a great day?  Does life always go your way?  Well of course not, but that doesn't mean you have to sit back and let life or things that happen in life drag you down.  An attitude of gratitude can go a long way.  So here are a few tips to make a good day better or turn a bad day around... Each day is how we choose to view it and what we make of it... . 10. Don't Sweat The Small Stuff Does it really matter if the kids left the toilet seat up?  Or the dogs chewed up your phone cord?  Or your stuck in traffic?  Yes, might be frustrating, but so much that it makes a bad day? You need to ask yourself "Does it really matter?"  You can teach kids to put the seat down (although this is a big feat!). You can get another phone cord.  You can listen to some music or talk show while you wait in traffic (hopefully you aren't late for work).  The point is you can find the good in any situation or not let the little stuff get to you...

We all dread it, we all are slaves to it and no one can escape it, that blasted alarm!  Well for me, the only way to ease into things for the day is to hit the snooze button probably at least 2 times.  Of course now days this is on my phone, not so much an alarm clock, but hey it still wakes me up... via GIPHY For some reason it makes me feel like I got more sleep. Now I have read studies that say it is more tiring and makes you feel less rested, but I beg to differ.  When that alarm goes off and I get 10 more minutes, that is like time gold!  And when I get to hit snooze 2 more times, it's like I hit the jackpot.  Pure sleeping bliss and more time to snuggle my wifey.  Epic! So are you a snoozer?  Do you need to hit the snooze a couple or few times before you can get out of bed?  Well I am and proud of it.  Snooze away!!!! #RookieGuru #GiveMeMore #SnoozeAway

So the other day we came out from watching a movie and found this person parked with their car "kissing" our Suburban and left.  It was pushing in the front bumper pretty good. We were like seriously?!?!  Who does that?  Luckily no permanent damage occurred.  The plastic ended up going back to shape, but for a day it was dented.  Needless to say this left us flabbergasted!!!  How could they not realize they parked that way and leave? #PeoplezIsDumb
